Week One!

It hasn’t been much of a long week as it has been a tempting one. My surgeon did not fill my band so it’s very empty, duh. My hunger fluctuates. One day the liquids will keep me full while the next day I feel as if I’m dying of hunger. I have a “twister” which is like a bullet mixer. It works really well. I mix up anything to a liquid form. My kids think I’m disgusting but hey a gal has to eat. Yesterday, I mixed a hot dog with some relish and ketchup. That didn’t go so well because it reminded me of regurgitated food. I try to get my liquids in but it is very hard to get 64 oz. in with a band around your belly.


I returned to work on Monday. I decided to take the bus which is about 4 blocks (10 minute walk) from my home and about 3 from work. In the a.m. it felt great. I felt like I was ready to take on the world. I felt a bit sick at work because I wasn’t taking anything in. I learned that I will fell light headed and sick if I take my Flintstones on an empty stomach or if I’m hungry for too long. I felt better as it was time to leave work. I still had the “take on the world” mentality when I left work. That was over in about 5 minutes of my walk to the bus stop. I don’t know if it was the heat or the lack of food that day but my stomach began to hurt. It felt like the bad was tightening. I haven’t tried walking since.


I see both my pcp and my surgeon on Friday. I am nervous to see what the scale says. I am also hoping that I can get on an exercise plan. I have been getting a lot of calls from the doctor’s office, the surgeon’s office, the hospital, as well has my insurance company.
