Is my band half empty or half full?

I had my first fill yesterday!

I was very excited and nervous at the same time.  The procedure was ok!  It just felt like getting a shot in the belly.

So I have a 10cc band and yesterday the doctor put 4cc in.  I have been very scared to eat mentally but physically.........well let's just say I like to test my limits.  Before my fill I would get a normal "feel of fullness".  Now I don't feel full.  I'm not clear why.  However, I do notice that I get a very slight headache when I think I should be full.  Is this my new "feel of fullness"? Or does it take time for my body to adjust to the fill?

I am shocked that nearly half of my band is filled on the first visit. I really don't know how I should feel about this!

I've heard it can take a few days for the fill to kick in, even up to a week.

Just a tip that has worked for me, I try to be very conscious of weighing and measuring rather than relying on my body to tell me I am full. I eat my portion then stop for about 20 mins or so to give my body time to realize it is full. If I really am still hungry, I allow myself a bit more. I have never once found I'm still hungry though. :) Best of luck with your new fill!

I have 4.5cc in a 10cc band - with only one fill, too! It took a few days, then POW! Instant restriction!!

I do get hungry at times and eat a bit more, but I tend to feel filled longer - which is a good thing!

Good luck!

It sounds like the headache is a soft stop sign for you-- your full signal. I get a tinge in my left shoulder.

yeah my doc puts 5 cc in the first fill visit. Weird about the headaches. Never hear of that. It's funny how every band is different for everyone. :o)

I didn't have much of the headaches today but I didn't eat much either so I don't know if it subsided or what. I can feel it tightening a little because I can feel food passing and I wasn't able to before. So it seems to be doing well.
